The French National Centre for Scientific Research is the largest governmental research organisation in France and the largest fundamental science agency in Europe. It employs 32,000 permanent employees and 6,000 temporary workers. Within the CNRS, the LEMAR, Marine Environmental Sciences Laboratory has the objective to study interactions between organism and environment. Its expertise on bacterial disease in Molluscs is recognized internationally. This team has developed a great interdisciplinary expertise in conducting studies on the environment impact on bivalve disease.
