Le projet VIVALDI est financé par l'Union européenne, à travers son programme Horizon 2020, qui a pour objectif de soutenir l'excellence en science et le leadership industriel. Dans ce but, 80 milliards d'euros sont dédiés, pendant 7 ans, au soutien à la recherche et à l'innovation partout en Europe.
