Sampling is now well on tracks in Spain, Norway, Ireland and France
VIVALDI partners have started to gather samples from the main bivalves that will be studied in the project (oysters, mussels, scallops, clams, cockles), but also from planktonic organisms, water, sediments and some small invertebrates. Samples are extracted from the environment (sea, ocean)or from bivalve farms and will be used by the researchers in the different working axis. Common standardised protocols have been agreed upon by the partners in order to apply similar sampling processes throughout Europe and obtain harmonised material to study.
